sewing and fashion stuff

this is supposed to be the part where things i miraculously pull out of some sewing machine get a place :^]

a... modernisation.

So, my brother and i found a suit while exploring an abandoned farmhouse. Neat! what now? Judging from the rather malnourished lapel and boxy shape, i would date it 60's.
Construction wise it could be much older honestly, but the design speaks against that.
i think it was pretty ugly actually, cut-wise, but the fabric is pretty nice, some kind of Scottish tweed, brownish gray, with yellowy dots and a red stripe.
Now apart from being a rather unelegant suit, it was also too big; when we found it in the dark bedroom of the abandoned farmhouse we visited, it seemed smaller.
Thus we ended up with a way too big ugly suit, with rodent or other holes, so also pretty unsellable.
So rather than letting it rot away any further, i took the daunting task upon me of turning this into a nice casual-ish 70s-style winter suit...

the jacket

Because most of my sewing experience centers around trousers and i barely know how jackets tend to be structured, i jumped into this abomination of a top piece.

original state, on my brother but it fit me just as well
